“The creation of ‘the 9 Months Podcast’ happened because most of the birth stories I’ve read and listened to have been coming out of places like the US, Australia and the UK. They are amazing, and I will also publish those, but I’ve felt for a while that there is a big need to hear more stories, from different healthcare systems and different cultures. I’m from Sweden, my husband is from New Zealand, and our boys were born in the UK and Czech Republic. I have been hungry to listen to stories from different places and I think there must be more of us out there wanting the same. I hope you enjoy this project and please don’t hesitate to reach out with suggestions or feedback!

I’ve listened to and read birth stories for over 5 years now, ever since my first pregnancy with my son Phineas, who was born in 2016. I went into that pregnancy thinking that I didn’t need to do the research, but rather just listen to and follow my care-providers guidance. But after a friend recommended me to read Ina May Gaskin’s ‘Guide to Childbirth’, my mindset completely changed and I devoured birth stories in every shape and form. I went on to make informed decisions and trusting myself much more in the process of becoming a mother.”
