Lisa-Marie Wakenshaw
Lisa is a mother of two, a yoga teacher and a birth-enthusiast from Sweden. She’s based in Prague, Czech Republic, married to a Kiwi and co-owner/creator of Prague Yoga Collective & Asanaetc. She is passionate about Birth Stories and the importance of sharing our journeys for a deeper understanding of a safe & supported pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
“I’ve listened to and read birth stories for over 5 years now, ever since my first pregnancy with my son Phineas, who was born in 2016. I went into that pregnancy thinking that I didn’t need to do the research, but rather just listen to and follow my care-providers guidance. But after a friend recommended me to read Ina May Gaskin’s ‘Guide to Childbirth’, my mindset completely changed and I devoured birth stories in every shape and form. I went on to make informed decisions and trusting myself much more in the process of becoming a mother.”
Lisa is the host of The 9 Months Podcast, trains teachers at our Pre/Post-Natal Trainings & co-hosts our Birth Courses and Meetups.

My yoga journey began in 2010, with a light relationship/interest in the yogic lifestyle, in California near my hometown.
In 2013, I underwent two operations on my knee, and I used yoga as a means to recovery.
Meditation taught me how to overcome the physical pain, and Asana practice slowly allowed me to regain full range of motion.
I've continued to nurture my yoga journey throughout my time here in Prague. I received a 200-hr teacher training certificate in Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga from Yoga Vimoksha in Goa, India in December 2015.

How do you prepare for the unknown - the challenges of your first labour?
Louise is of Danish origin and came into The Birth Collective while wanting to share her experiences of giving birth to her two daughters here in the Czech Republic. Louise saw the need of creating something inclusive, to help both foreigners and czechs with the challenges of navigating the system and preparing for birth & post-partum.
Louise is very passionate about sharing Laboro, a breathing & relaxation technique that’s very common in Denmark, which empowered her in the process leading up to the labours, and provided actual pain-relief during the births of her two daughters.

Lucie Sillitoe
Mum to three blue-eyed kiddos, Freya, Harry & Eddie, and a stepmum to Izzie. I trained with Katharine Graves and completed the KGH Hypnobirthing Teacher Training Course which is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives (RCM).
My ultimate mission is to spread the word about Hypnobirthing and its benefits. I want more women to feel excited, positive and empowered by their Birth Experience rather than feel frightened and anxious.
Lucie is also one of the early founders of the Birth Collective where we’re supporting parents who might feel a bit lost at times and needing a bit of a company of other parents who might just be going through the same thing. The good and the bad.
The mission is to build a community, a tribe, a safe environment where you can offload, share your stories and support each other on the journey that parenthood is.
Lucie is also the founder of Hypnobirthing Buddy, where she teaches coping and breathing to parents to be.

Before settling in Prague, I grew up in Germany and lived in Austria for studies and work. At the moment, i am at home with my two year old son Theodor. As half Austrian, half Czech with a multilingual education, I enjoy meeting people with multicultural backgrounds and learning new and exciting things about our world.
I am an urbanist with focus on economic and political aspects. Getting inspired by other cities around the world through travelling and volunteering is what I enjoy the most. In my free time, I go for a run to unknown areas in order to explore my surrounding and discover new places.
In the last eight years I also intensified my yoga practice and lately also teaching classes myself in german, english and czech language.

I look forward to seeing you in one of my pre-natal vinyasa classes. Let us strengthen and stretch, compensate for all-daylong sitting, learn new movement patterns, and find balance while cultivating a curious and playful mindset. For me, yoga is not only a way to get to know my body and put it in shape. Every day it teaches me acceptance, self-compassion, and the importance of taking care of my mind and body. I discovered through it the beauty of movement and the joy of being fully concentrated on the present moment. Besides yoga, I enjoy walks in nature, reading, acroyoga, and spending time with my closest ones.

I am an enthusiast of learning and enjoying life to the fullest, however, as many of us, sometimes get overwhelmed with the fast-speed in which life happens nowadays. After pursuing what a lot of people would call a successful career in the private sector, finishing a Ph.D. in Water Technology, leading an NGO to promote inclusion of minorities in International Water Governance, and generally always trying to do more and more, I realised I needed to learn how to listen to myself and quiet for a moment all the noise of the world around me. I have been a committed yoga practitioner for over 6 years. In 2022 I took a yoga retreat in Rishikesh India at Yogpeeth Rishikesh, and fell even more in love with the depth of yoga and the positive impact it can have in one’s life. After that, I have taken 2 different yoga teacher certifications + pre/post-natal yoga certification as well. I have been in Prague for over 5 years and found in Prague Yoga Collective a great community to explore my yoga practice further and meet awesome people in the process.

Eva Slámková
Yoga makes me feel energised and peacefully grounded in myself and the world around me.
My journey began more than a decade ago and it was a bird in Australia that played a key part in it. There, holding the pigeon pose during yin class I for the first time surrendered to the discomfort with one sincere exhale. And what I discovered was a dimension of yoga I want to share with others.
I highly respect taoist philosophy of yin and yang. That is why I teach and practise both dynamic and gentler styles of yoga or combine them in one. I completed my Vinyasa training in Barcelona and also teach Yin, prenatal and kids yoga.
Besides crispy beats I sprinkle each class with mindfulness and meditation techniques to create more space between the thoughts. That’s where clear perception and new perspectives happen. Good old pigeons.
