What are the benefits of taking a Birth Course?
One of the biggest reasons that we decided to start offering this course was that we felt confused in our first pregnancies as to how to approach birth & postpartum. When you get pregnant, suddenly everyone around you has an opinion and tips & tricks to give away and it can become very overwhelming trying to navigate.
An antenatal/birth course helps us clear up what is actually happening in the body & mind during the birth process. It provides coping techniques for a smoother process as well as tools for making informed choice, empowering not only the birthing person but also the birth partner.
There is just so much information out there and we decided to comprise it all down into a course that fits the life and system here in the Czech Republic.
Just as every birthing person will have a completely unique birth experience, they will also find a unique way of preparing for their journey to parenthood. Our course is designed to provide different approaches of preparing for birth and postpartum.
What’s covered in the course?
Our birth course is designed to give you overall knowledge of both the physical & mental process of birth & postpartum and how the body and mind are connected throughout the entire process.
The course includes (but isn’t limited to) the following:
The Physiology of Birth / What is actually happening in the body & mind through labour & birth.
The Stages of a Birth Process
Interventions / Knowledge about possible interventions, including c-section & assisted birth, for both partners to feel empowered to make informed choices an have a positive birth experience.
Postpartum & the 4th Trimester / Immediate postpartum & the benefits of skin-to-skin, delayed cord-clamping etc. to coming home and caring for each other & the new baby.
Relaxation Techniques / For both birthing partners to support, relax and smoothen the birth process through breath, touch & movement.
Creating a Birth & Postpartum Plan/Wish
Guided Meditations & Gentle Movements / For both birth partners.
